The CanCertainty Coalition is the united voice of more than 30 Canadian patient groups, cancer health charities and caregiver organizations working with oncologists and cancer care professionals to improve the affordability and accessibility of cancer treatment.
The Special Access Program administers authorizations to physicians wishing to treat patients for whom conventional treatment has failed, is unsuitable, or requires a drug not yet available in Canada. The physician is required to submit an application to SAP.
Financial & Insurance Supports
Life insurance policies for people with cancer, including brain cancer, is made available by Industrial Alliance’s Cancer Guard Program. Several insurance brokerage firms across Canada offer the Cancer Guard Program, there may be one close to you.

Drug: Access, Coverage, Subsidization, Reimbursement
Individuals are eligible for coverage for drugs listed on the Saskatchewan Formulary or for drugs approved under Exception Drug Status(EDS). Individuals must meet medical criteria and will pay according to individual deductible and/or co-payment. Application must be made by a physician, nurse practitioner, or pharmacist.

Support workers, advocacy, and healing centres for First Nations and Métis individuals, families, communities.
This program provides reimbursement to citizens for fuel and $25 flat rate for parking costs associated with travel to and from the patient’s community for cancer-related appointments.

Assistance and information for preparations for your appointment(s), psychological needs, financial concerns, health system concerns, family issues, and coping issues.
