Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) Mandate

The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) is a standing committee that works to distribute funds to research and technology projects that fulfill Brain Cancer Canada’s mission. 

The Scientific Advisory Committee oversees the development, communication, receipt, and evaluation of brain cancer research and technologies grant proposals. Once reviewed, the Committee takes positive recommendations forward to the Board for final approval. 

Committee members include brain cancer patients, industry specialists, research professionals, caregivers, and advocates.

Advancements in the treatment of brain cancer requires time and committed investment. Brain Cancer Canada is eager to continue to support the meticulous work of researchers, scientists, physicians, and clinicians across the brain cancer community, adult and pediatric.

Scientists, researchers, clinicians, and industry representatives seeking funding for initiatives that aim to bring promising treatments to Canada, or address unmet needs, are invited to directly reach out to sac@braincancercanada.ca to explore possibilities for support. 

Become an Advisor

Brain Cancer Canada Advisors are brain cancer warriors, community advocates, and medical and industry professionals, with insights in the field, strong networks, and a passion for engagement.

Advisors are eager to share their advice and offer suggestions for how Brain Cancer Canada can continue to support the brain cancer community, but who do not have the capacity to fully participate on a committee or as a director.
