You want to change the experience of brain cancer patients. You're motivated to support a loved one and have time to actively participate.  

Brain Cancer Canada is governed by an extraordinary group of volunteer directors representing a diversity of industries, geographies, and professions. Community participants with a track record of service, they oversee the advancement of Brain Cancer Canada’s mission and are responsible for financial decision-making.

Ambassadors take pride in contributing to improving the lives of brain cancer patients and their families. They are integral for the execution of projects at Brain Cancer Canada. Ambassadors introduce prospective ambassadors to the organization, are self-motivated and organized, and enjoy working independently or part of a team. Brain Cancer Canada is able to do what it does best because of the support of our Ambassadors.

Volunteers play an integral role in supporting events and initiatives in community. Working with Ambassadors, volunteers are professional, courteous, help direct inquiries, and are ready to jump in with opportunities in their local communities. We are grateful to every volunteer who contributes their time and energy.

Brain Cancer Canada Advisors are brain cancer warriors, community advocates, and medical and industry professionals, with insights in the field, strong networks, and a passion for engagement. Advisors are eager to share their advice and offer suggestions for how Brain Cancer Canada can continue to support the brain cancer community, but who do not have the capacity to fully participate on a committee or as a director.

Committees

Brain Cancer Canada committees report to the Board, meet regularly between board meetings to plan, refine, act on priorities, and have subcommittees to efficiently engage our talented and driven volunteers. 

Ambassador

Ambassadors play a key role in raising awareness about the brain cancer experience, shaping advocacy efforts, and leading fundraising initiatives.  

Fundraising

Ensuring the financial viability and stability of the organization through sponsorships, events, and fundraisers, and implementing marketing-initiated campaigns and programs.  

Operations

The seat of financial oversight, legal affairs, leadership development, protecting board integrity, and establishing compliance with internal governance policies.

Marketing & Communication

Stewards of Brain Cancer Canada’s brand and image through marketing and communications ensuring campaign alignment with strategic priorities.

Community Engagement

Building community, and a constructive network of partners, while raising awareness and increasing education about the brain cancer patient experience. 

Scientific Advisory (SAC)

The committee at which the Requests for Proposals is designed, proposals are received and evaluated, and which makes recommendations to the Board for grant awards.
