Tyler
BY TANYA PALMOSWKI, Tyler’s mom
Our son Tyler was eight years old when he was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour called medulloblastoma. Five years later, doctors found a new growth in Tyler’s brain, but this time it was DIPG. Tyler passed away on November 24, 2020, at home, in our arms.
Tyler was the most caring little boy. He stuck up for kids being bullied at school and was always there to help anyone in need. He loved being around family, especially his younger brother and sister. He would help me plan parties, right down to all the food we were going to serve. Tyler had a love for fishing, hunting, camping and hockey. He lived for summers at the lake and winters ice fishing and playing hockey.
Every year we host the Tyler Palmowski Memorial Cup in memory of our son. The Junior Braves hockey family help us raise money for DIPG research here in Canada. The event allows us to keep our son’s memory alive, and meet other families who have lost their children to cancer.
