Trinity

By Tammy Ellsworth, Trinity’s mom

Trinity Anne Ellsworth of Carbonear, NL was to start Kindergarten in September 2021, but life had other plans for her. She never had her first day of school. Instead, she had her first stay in a hospital, her first IV, her first CT scan, MRI, first surgery, her first dose of radiation (30 to be exact), steroids, and the list goes on.

Trinity was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, DIPG, at just 5 ½ years old. Given only a year to live, Trinity lost her battle to DIPG on May 12, 2022, 8 months later.

Trinity didn’t get a chance to fight. The lack of funding, lack of research, and lack of treatment, didn’t allow modern science to help her. We, Trinity’s parents, decided that we were going to put DIPG on the map, by raising awareness, and fundraising for research. We would continue the fight, for Trinity, so that one day, DIPG won’t steal another child’s firsts.

Our fight against DIPG will never be over. We will continue to fundraise for research and treatment of this monster disease - for all the angels and warriors.
