Brain Cancer Canada acknowledges that it is located on the traditional territory of many nations. We are grateful to have the opportunity to meet and work on many Indigenous homelands across this land we share.
As settlers on these lands, it is important to acknowledge that our Alberta office (Calgary) is located on the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, which include the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprised of the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations) and Métis Nation (District 5 and 6) of Alberta. The land on which we operate in Toronto is on the traditional territory of traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
We want to express our respect for the territories we reside in and honour the diverse Indigenous People who have lived and worked on this land historically and presently.
