Brain cancers – like glioblastoma, which ended the life of Gord Downie of the Tragically Hip – are among the most fatal diseases we know.
And yet, we still know very little about how to stop them. Surgery can rarely remove all the cancer cells, and few chemotherapy drugs have proven to be effective. The last breakthrough in brain cancer treatment was 16 years ago!
